SUMMARY:BloomForce – Where Youth Bloom into the Workforce - Teens With a Purpose
DESCRIPTION:Teens With a Purpose (TWP) presents BloomForce – Where Youth Bloom into the Workforce\, a one-year workforce development initiative serving youth aged 13–21 in Norfolk\, Virginia\, with an emphasis on the Young Terrace\, Calvert Square and Huntersville neighborhoods. The program will run September 6-August 8 and conclude with a job fair\, and assistance with job placement in the Green industry. \nThe project addresses environmental\, economic\, and social challenges in this historically under-resourced area through paid apprenticeships that combine Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professionals (CBLP-A) certification\, green infrastructure training\, urban food production and creative placemaking. \nThis training integrates classroom instruction with hands-on experience at Purpose Park\, a one-acre green space established by TWP\, and includes community events\, field trips\, and environmental justice workshops. \nTeens wanting to participate should complete the interest form for next steps: https://forms.gle/7w1Z5sLj8kwbtVAF6.\nOr for more information\, email twpassist@gmail.com.
