Originally built in 1953, Grandy Village has been undergoing a transformation since 2001. Earlier phases encompassed:
- Construction of 22 new townhouse-style apartments built as duplexes
- Construction of 15 additional townhouse-style apartments
- Renovations to the existing housing and recreation center
- Construction of Grandy Village Learning Center
- Construction of Kimball Loop, a new road in the community
Currently, Phase VI is seeing the construction of:
- 70 new townhouse-style apartments
- A new office for the community resource officer and the tenant management corporation
- A new road connecting Kimball Terrace and Wiley Drive.
Upon completion of Phase VI, 44 units of existing housing between Kimball Terrace and Kimball Loop will be demolished, and new housing will be constructed in this area. The new housing has not yet been designed.
