BloomForce – Where Youth Bloom into the Workforce – Teens With a Purpose

Teens With a Purpose (TWP) presents BloomForce – Where Youth Bloom into the Workforce, a one-year workforce development initiative serving youth aged 13–21 in Norfolk, Virginia, with an emphasis on the Young Terrace, Calvert Square and Huntersville neighborhoods. The program will run September 6-August 8 and conclude with a job fair, and assistance with job placement in the Green industry.
The project addresses environmental, economic, and social challenges in this historically under-resourced area through paid apprenticeships that combine Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professionals (CBLP-A) certification, green infrastructure training, urban food production and creative placemaking.
This training integrates classroom instruction with hands-on experience at Purpose Park, a one-acre green space established by TWP, and includes community events, field trips, and environmental justice workshops.
