Responding to residents’ requests, Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) has installed an Emergency Callbox in its Calvert Square family community.
The Emergency Callbox is available to make emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Anyone can use the Emergency Callbox to report a security situation or a health care emergency,” according to NRHA’s Director of Safety and Security Karen Rose.” This is just one more way for our residents to summon police or paramedics,” added Rose.
Usage will be monitored in order to test the effectiveness and the volume of calls.
“Resident safety and peace of mind are at the heart of all our programs at NRHA. This is another example of how we are working to provide both,” Rose said.
