Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) and the City of Norfolk’s Rent Ready Norfolk are kicking off the free new webinar Landlord Learning Series this month for landlords and property managers, which will provide helpful information and highlight the Housing Choice Voucher Program. The monthly online sessions begin Tuesday, Sept. 28, with “Update on Virginia Eviction Protections.”
During this first webinar, Martin Wegbreit, director of litigation with the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, will speak on current Virginia eviction protections, the Virginia Rent Relief Program, the ban on source of funds discrimination, and new landlord-tenant laws that went into effect July 1, 2021.
Wegbreit, based in Richmond, has been with the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society for more than a decade handling a wide variety of civil legal problems for low-income people. In addition, this University of Michigan Law School graduate is a member of the City of Richmond’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund Oversight Board, the Steering Committee of the Campaign to Reduce Evictions, the Legal Advisory Board of Housing Opportunities Made Equal, the Virginia Housing Commission’s Evictions sub-work group, and the Virginia State Bar’s Special Committee on Access to Legal Services.
This first session will be Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. To register, go to https://bit.ly/LandlordWebinar1
