Norfolk, VA (May 28, 2025) – Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) will host a public presentation to unveil the three, shortlisted firms being considered as the development partner for the Young Terrace and Calvert Square transformation project. The event is in The Slover’s Community Engagement Room, 650, 235 E. Plume St., on Wednesday, June 4, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Earlier this year, each firm responded with a written pitch to NRHA’s initial Request for Proposal seeking a development partner for the project. They will now use this session to present a clear, compelling visual narrative that supports their qualifications and strengthens their case to be selected as the developer for the neighborhoods’ planned transformation. Presentations will include the design elements of neighborhood transformations each firm has previously curated, that are similar in size and scope to Young Terrace and Calvert Square.
The event is open to the public and limited transportation will be provided for NRHA residents interested in attending. Public comment and interviews will be tabled until the development partner is selected and introduced at a four-day charette workshop scheduled for July. In February, March and April, NRHA hosted open forums for residents to meet with Authority staff, and external architecture partners, to give their opinions on neighborhood designs and upgrades.
